Jeffrey is the founder of J Nicolai Law. With a JD and MBA, Mr. Nicolai takes a business-orientated approach to the practice of law. Mr. Nicolai’s strength is his responsiveness and ability to provide practical solutions to real world business issues. Mr. Nicolai can execute these solutions by independently managing complex processes and skillfully drafting a wide-range of legal documents.
Mr. Nicolai is licensed to practice law in California and New York.
In addition to his legal expertise, Mr. Nicolai served chief operating officer and general counsel of Phoodie, a food photo sharing mobile app that sold in 2017. Mr. Nicolai has dealt extensively with venture capital fundraising, financial modeling, strategic growth strategies, data analytics platforms & metrics, intellectual property, social media & native advertising and a broad range of business issues facing startups and growing companies.
Mr. Nicolai started his career in mergers & acquisitions at White & Case LLP’s New York office, then transferred to the firm’s Silicon Valley office to work in its start up / venture capital practice. Jeffrey later helped form Tackett Mull Nicolai LLP, a San Francisco based law firm where Jeffrey served as outside general counsel to a number of private companies.
Mr. Nicolai is Board Chair of Fostering Media Connections, a non-profit focused on improving the lives of children in the foster care system.
